Director European Governmental Affairs & Strategic Partnerships (m/f/x)


Aufgaben

The Governmental Affairs & Strategic Partnerships team represents our interests and promotes our goal to become a leading global healthcare company contributing to the sustainable development of society.

The Director Governmental Affairs (GA) & Strategic Partnerships executes our strategic stakeholder management programs and policy projects as GA Partner for our eight European Mid-Sized Countries (MSCs) Belgium, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland, Portugal, Greece and Turkey plus the Scandinavian region with Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. The candidate should have extensive experience in Policy and Public Affairs with a particular focus on healthcare and pharma both on national and European level. The role specifically focuses on being a partner for the MSCs in all GA related questions, however also conducts own interactions with relevant national and regional stakeholders and organizations. Building trust and relationships is a key part of the role, along with monitoring and driving important healthcare topics.

REPORTING
Reports to the Head of Governmental Affairs & Strategic Partnerships Europe The position is based at our European Headquarters in Munich.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Execute global Governmental Affairs strategy and develop regional plans working with the MSCs and the Scandinavian cluster
  • Be advisor to Regional and Country Heads in GA related questions
  • Engage with stakeholders and key policy makers on EU, national and local level to ensure DS positions are recognized
  • Track key policies, laws, and regulations impacting pharma and trade policy
  • Identify early on and prioritize emerging regulations and legislation that will impact DS in the countries and ensure internal awareness, including risks and opportunities
  • Develop and drive strategic stakeholder management programs and projects and track them
  • Train and prepare DS-representatives for participation in key events, speeches, including round tables, negotiations, and industry conferences
  • Build and manage trustful relationships with stakeholders and institutions
  • Monitor the activities and performance of external agencies
  • Work closely in alignment with Market Access, Communications, Medical, and Commercial on interdisciplinary approaches
  • Fosters an open and creative information and engagement culture through a coherent approach across the organization

Profil
  • University degree (e.g. master's degree in Political Science, European Studies, Public Affairs, Law, Journalism, Economics, or similar)
  • At least 8 years of work experience in a company or institutional PR position in the healthcare sector, preferable in an advanced position
  • In-depth experience working with Senior Leaders
  • In-depth experience working with external stakeholders from a wide variety of fields, roundtables and meetings
  • Deep understanding of the European political environment
  • Passion for working with people from various functions

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and deliver on deadlines and budgets
